In an in-depth study conducted in 50 major manufacturing industries in Europe, grip in wet or dry environments was identified as a requirement for 89%* of the workstations.
Indeed, an optimal hand grip is vital for worker safety when handling materials. Grip efficiency depends on the level of friction between two surfaces: when friction is low and objects lack support from below, workers apply even more grip force to prevent slips and drops. With less grip force, workers experience greater comfort and productivity. A study comparing the force applied when handling objects with gloves with different types of grips showed that wearing an optimal grip would reduce the force exerted by the worker by up to 23%**.
